On the 22-24th of November, the 20th Republican Championship amidst youth and juniors and the 27th Azerbaijan Senior Championship have been held at the Baku Sports Palace. About 585 children, youth, juniors and seniors of various regions performed in the competitions organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Azerbaijan Karate-Do Federation and the National Karate Federation.
The tournament was also attended by “Zirve” Karate players under the guidance of Rustam Akberov. Our representatives captured two gold and one bronze medal.
Khudash Agayev (55kg) and Tale Yagubov (68kg) were champions among 12-13 and 16-17 years respectively. In 75kg bodyweight category of seniors, Samir Ibrahimov clinched the third place.
The winners of the Republican championship will represent Azerbaijan in next year’s competitions involving to national teams at different age groups.
