In 19 – 24th of april V Traditional “International Rumi Child Sport Games” held in Konya – Turkey. There were heavy and light athletics, badminton, bicycle, gymnastics, wrestling, karate, taekwondo, chess and swimming sport types and more than 850 sportsmen participated in. 23 countries – Germany, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belchika, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Northern Cyprus, Kosovo, Hungary, Makedonia, Moldova, Uzbekhistan, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey participated in competitions.
In 21 – 22th of april Azerbaijan Youth Weightlifting team competed in weighlifting championship. From U-15 boys and girls team 8 athletes did up to platform. 6 of them could up to honorary chair and have got medals.Our team won 1 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals. So women’s team took 5th, men’s team took 2nd place.
In women’s competition athletes of “Zirve” International Sport Club Sevar Maharramova and Sabina Azimova did up to platform. Sevar competed in 53 kg weight category, she was 110 kg (50 + 60) result and won bronze medal.
But Sabina demonstrated better performance. She totally was 160 kg (70+90) result and left all her rivals behind. Azimova tame 7 kg more than her closest follower and celebrated her victory.
“Zirve” disciples distinguished in men’s competition as well. In 50 kg weight category both athletes – Aliyev Fugan and Huseinov Elmaddin were 166 kg result. But Fugan was 6 g lighter than his rival, therefore he has owned silver medal.
In 69 kg weight category one more athlete of our club Alimardan Alkhasov was 202 kg (92 + 110)
and took 2nd place.
In 77 kg weight category other weighlifter of “ZIrve” Almazkhan Safarov distinguished. He won bronze medal with 210 kg (95 + 115) total result.
Two more athletes – Babayev Tamerkhan and Shukurlu Mail took 4th place.
This is so happy event that all medals (6 medals) of Azerbaijan team have been got by “Zirve” disciples. We congratulate al the sportsmen and their coaches and wish them better successes!
